Afternoon all, Not a mechanical issue as such but appreciate some advice on this. I was working on the bike this weekend (servicing etc) and when reattaching the RH lower fairing, the bolt hole popped out (see picture) which i have necer experienced before. It looks like it has been repaired in the past (before i took owenership of the bike). Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I am trying to source a replacement right hand panel (red) but I can only find full kits which are quite expensive when adding shipping (especially seeing as I only need the right hand panel) My current thought process is to to clean up the piece that has come out, then use something like JB Plastic weld to re-fix the hole and try that (or the other option is to build up with filler and drill through for the screw). Any one have any thoughts on this?
Make a slurry/mix of abs plastic bits(fine), using acetone to dissolve. Will be a better glue than jbweld. LEGO is abs if you can’t find elsewhere...
You could try this.. A few years back this is exactly the process I used to fix a VFR which went off - roading during one of Reggie's R3 meets in California. Just take your time - and don't breathe in the fumes. Once left to set overnight it proved more than strong enough to fix a torn off indicator stalk on a 5th gen on our run back to San Francisco.
