Ok, so I know this probably isn't a big deal to most but to me its huge. I have had my 700,750 ( not sure which cause it was a 700 but the guy I got if from says it had a 750 in it) anyways, I have had it a week and when I got it it ran like crap, so never worked on a bike before I was scared to do a carb cleaning on it, but I did. And low and behold I DIDN'T SCREW IT UP! I even changed the orings in the fuel rails. It runs like a champ and no leaks. As I said it probably isn't a big deal to most im sure but I feel so proud and ready to ride.

The more maintenance you do, the more confidence you will get. Great job and welcome to the forum. Your next task is to post some pictures.

Hey, congrats! Anytime you tear into some carbs, especially the first time, and don't have to put up a panic "help me with my carbs" post, you're already kickin' butt! After a few more times, it's just plain fun making all sorts of adjustments. A set of well tuned carbs are almost better than an ice cold bottle of Lagunita IPA in August. almost.

There's a link that will take you to the nighthawk carb help files. Unfortunately now, you have to sign up for the google files to access the info. It's free but still. Anyway, if you do sign up, they're very helpful if you want to get a lot more info on carbs and carb theory.

Look on the side of the engine block on the left rear and it should have the size in CC's molded on to it. I'm assuming it's in the same location as the gen 1.
