    Hey,

I have an 87 vfr700f2, which has been great except the fan can't seem to turn on so the bike will overheat in traffic. I replaced the radiator switch and fuse, neither of which made a difference. When I was poking around under the dash, I noticed these wires were unplugged, but I have no idea where they go, (I looked at the wiring diagram). IMG_20160527_184015.jpg

So my question: Are these the wires for the fan? And how/where do I connect them? Do I have to take the headlight and top fairing off to fix this?

    Thanks

I can't help identify the wires, it's been many years since I owned one of these. However I have a couple of suggestions for you. The only connector for the fan circuit should be a 2P black connector, and you should have 12v from the black/blue wire to ground.

First, the power supply to the fan motor is always live, and the temperature switch completes the ground circuit. You should be able to pull the female spade off the temp switch and ground this with a jumper to somewhere on the frame, and with ignition on the fan should come on. That is a quick check for power supply.

Secondly if the switch is temperamental you can run a manual switch in parallel and turn this on by hand.
