I've been kitting out my VFR 5th Generation so that I can see and use my phone GPS while riding I did my research and decided on a RAM Mount system, which consisted of three parts:

    1. The X Grip Universal Smart Phone & Sat Nav Holder with 1" Ball
    2. A Composite Double Socket Short Arm 1" Ball
    3. A Ram Mount Fork Stem with 1" Ball. This was the tricky part as the RAM Fork Stem doesn't fit the VFR adequately. Thankfully, RAM redirected me to a man called Bob Telfer from TELFERIZER (http://www.telferizer.com) who modifies the RAM Stem so that it fits the VFR perfectly. He also sells a lot of the RAM accessories so you can get all of the parts for the fitting from him.

I've also equipped a USB charger (and cigarette lighter). I fed the cable from the battery, under the seat and tank so that the accessory sits beside my display panel. It's very handy and means that I can ride with my navigation for as long as I need to.

I've attached some pics so take a look and be sure to visit the Telferizer site.

Next step is a Sena Bluetooth helmet kit. Any recommendations?

This is the Bluetooth unit I bought, from cyclegear.com: the UClear HB100
    http://www.cyclegear.com/UCLEAR-HBC100-Plus-Bluetooth-Communication-System---Single

It's their mid-level model and for $140, I'm very happy with it. The speaker are much better than the $80 model cyclegear also stocks. I bought it for music only, but after receiving my first phone call at 70mph I was really impressed. The sound quality is good and other I've talked to on the phone say the built-in mic works good too. Best accessory I've bought this year.

I'm getting a Sena 20S or Cardo Packtalk this winter, myself.

Thanks for the replies. I've seen the Uclear and the Sena on Revzilla but it's always good to hear about peoples experiences - I'll take the Uclear a little more seriously now. The Sena 20S does sound the part. It does everything and I like the phone app. I've not hear of the Cardo Backtalk so will definately look into that one.

Sena and Cardo are the leaders in intercoms.

I used a Sena G9x the other week and they worked well - but the new "Packtalk" units are the latest generation.

Both the Sena 20S and Cardo Packtalk have a universal connect feature that will allow them to work with other brands of intercoms equipped with Bluetooth. Brands typically don't work with each other, so another deciding factor will be the brand your friends use. I highly recommend you get the brand that your friends are using or plan to upgrading to in the near future.
