My friend ran his 1984 interceptor off the road on sunday night:eek:. He broke his shoulder (he should be ok in a few weeks). But the bike was slightly damaged. I need to fix the radiator?

Anybody know how to fix a radiator. This just needs the stem with the cap soldered? or brazed? back together? Any body have any luck with this type of repair.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but if you haven't repaired a radiator before then this probably your best bet...

Brazing would be your best bet - try looking up a rad shop in your area, might be cheaper than you think!

I've repaired a few delicate aluminum rads by very carefully tig welding them.

    Repaired

I fixed the radiator by brazingsoldering the stem back on. Granted she's a little bent but seemed to work alright. I rode the bike about 30 miles tonight.

now she needs a new gas cap or new gas cap gasket. off topic.

thanks again to everyone whom posted.

I'll post a repair picture next chance i get.
