G'day guys I'm new to this forum but have had
A very long love affair with the VFRs for a very long
Time. In the late 80's I had a big poster of a white
86 VFR750 on the wall of my year 12 common room.
I always said I would have one one day and now that
day is getting closer. I am now looking for that 86 VFR750!
Any ideas of where to look would be great.
    Cheers

Welcome! The bikes are out there. I found my new (old) love in a barn. Turns out a local bike guy just had it sitting there collecting dust!

G'day to you young man. Best of luck finding your dream bike. I also had a poster of an RWB Interceptor 500 on my wall as a youth. I ended up with a VFR800 and am happy as can be.

What I recall from my reading around here is that you will want to upgrade to an F2 front end and rear wheel down the road. I believe you might also want to get a CBR600F3 shock. With those upgrades, it would be a right tasty little ride. I imagine toecutter can give you better upgrade advice as he has a beautifully updated 2nd gen. that I was eyeballing hard, just before I bought my Viffer.

    Thanks for the welcome fellas.
I am really hoping to find as close to an original as possible and keep it that way. Things may change once I start riding it though!
    Cheers

Yes pacemaker the white one would be perfect if I only had a bit more money. I'm hoping to find one that I can fix up and therefor a bit cheaper. And the 87, what a great bike, but way out of my budget.
    Cheers

What sort of budget are we talking about? seeing as how were almost neighbours, I'll keep my eyes open. To be honest have not seen to many pop up in the local papers, but so many bikes are sitting in dealers, but not many get advertised.

Hoping for something around $1500 unregistered, needs work. I need a project. One sold on eBay not long ago for about $1100, it was in taree, bloke had utube video of it. Didn't seem too bad at all.
