    Hi everybody.
As the title says, I have had an output shaft disaster!
My 5th gen stopped going foward one day, and I had to get it towed home.
On pulling the side cover off the front sproket I discovered that I had NO splines left on my output shaft. That explains why I couldn't go forwards in any gear!
    I am left with a 3 choices...
1 sell the bike as is.
2 pull the motor and get another motor from the wreckers ($1000 aust)
3 pull the motor and get the mechanics to replace the shaft ($1200 aust)
The last 2 involve me doing alot of spanner work, with time that I don't really have!
So after 10 good years and almost 100,000klm it is probably time to just let go!
Anyone want a very loved blue 5th gen? Project?
    Regards R.

Not a great solution but you could weld a sprocket on.

I briefly thought about it,but it would be pretty unsafe, and painful to change sprockets as well.
    Thanks for the advice.
