I'm looking for a taller windscreen for my Gen 6. I stand 6'3" (and have 3/4" risers on my bars) and most of the deflected air from the stock windscreen hits me right around the upper chest and chin. I've found Zero Gravity's option for a touring screen, but read a couple negative reviews, and thought I'd get a general consensus from the experts. So lets here it: WHAT DO YOU RUN? Does it work for the taller riders? What have you tried that DIDN'T WORK? Pics of what it looks like installed, and links to the product are a bonus! Thanks!

I ran a Givi Touring screen on mine for the winter months. It's quite a bit larger than stock, but still looks ok on the bike (mine was light smoke).

Yes that's it, the D217s (s is for smoke, I think). I got mine from www.sporttour.com for the same price.

Nice, thanks guys. Is that a super magna I see tucked away there Dave? A buddy of mine has one of those. I've been beggin' for the last 5 years for him to sell it to me.

That is indeed a SuperMagna! I thought it was my dream bike for many years (without ever owning a street bike). I finally had the money and found a perfect 1988 with less than 10k. It was my first street bike. After riding it for a few months, I realized I just wasn't having any fun on it, since it turns out I'm more of a sportbike sort of guy. Once I got the VFR, I knew the Magna was a mistake and sold it. It's still a cool bike, but I would never ride it and don't have the room for a museum piece.

It's super easy...remove the 2 black plastic bits under the edges of the front fairing/windscreen (above your grips). They are held on by one Phillips screw. That will expose a 5mm hex head screw (allen) on each side. Take those out and the windscreen is free. It has a few little teeth on each side, so you have to slide it up and back about 1/4" and it will lift off.

Thanks but wrong generation. i had a 2002 and a 2006, and it was easy.-- For the 2014 model i guess no one on the forum has replaced the OEM with an aftermarket windscreen yet? NOW i have a 2014 8th generation and can't find a thing on its removal. Bought a power bronze from the UK and hoped to put it on this weekend. The new interceptors have beautiful styling that doesn't show many assembly points and the windscreen looks like a bear to get off since after i get those first 2 screws out and nothing is loose and no obvious next step for disassembly. Any help or picture from a service manual would give me a direction. Help

This question in a thread titled "6th gen windscreen options" is why I provided instructions for a 6th gen. How on earth could anyone have known you were asking about an 8th gen?!!!

FYI, if you do a little more searching, there IS a thread about the 8th gen windscreen removal somewhere....either here or over on VFRD.

Also FYI, you can buy a service manual online for less than $50.

thanks Dave, you're right i should have been specific. i haven't seen anything on this or the other thread as well as youtube. I will probably will buy the service manual but i'm not planning on working on it anymore than this final modification. i was hoping someone has done this and could offer some details.
