"They" say first impressions are everything, so of of course I feel compelled to make an introductory statement that really sticks. However, I really don't have anything to original. :blah: I , after quite a little time off, decided to buy another motorcycle. (My intro thread could easily branch into a couple of current, more specific forums, but I'll try to keep it tight!) I am a re-tread, 15 years in sleeper mode, I guess. In college I had a '88 Ninja 600, my friend and rommate Jay had a '85vfr 500. I rode many miles beside my good buddy and have many fond memories of those years. Last year when I convinced myself ( and my wife ) that I should get another bike (1st since the Ninja), I knew (without knowing) what I was looking for. My current buds think they need a Harley but dont realy know why. Me, well I always liked my roomates vfr. So I did a little search and saw Honda did indeed still make a VFR, and for 2007 they made one in red, white and blue. In a nutshell, I bought the bike and LOVE it, I found this site and love it too!! (Been "lurking" for almost a year now.) You all are alot of fun, the personality is great here, and I look forward to being a part of it all - - I am hooked!! You new friend and happy VFR customer - EVvy
PS - Michael - (thanks for help with my dorky registration issue!)

    Welcome aboard.

If you refrain from asking the "which gen is better" question for at least a week, and you are ok in my book.

We are all kind of loopy this time of year, so please excuse us. If you have questions, feel free to ask, but try the search function first. many of the FAQs have abundant information in answer.

Good to have you aboard, feel free to chime in whenever you can. Not that this is a requirement, but maybe you can kinda tell us what you bring to the table, you know, strengths/knowledge pertaining to bikes and riding.

Stupid questions are not an issue. I think we all enjoy those. It's the ones that get asked over and over and over and over and over...like oil preference, tire preference, do these leathers make my butt look fat?, who has never been to Boston in the fall? Those kind of things. But remember, without pictures, it didn't happen.

Probably the best thing I could bring to the table is a case of beer! My area of expertise (unfortunately) is my job. That is painting/striping roads, highways and runways. Yep, I'm one of those guys that install those slick lines and messages. Sorry. I did go to college for aeronautial studies & got my pilots license before all of that. Doesn't help much with my job, but maybe with riding. Hmm - Smoothness and safety?

Welcome aboard. Of course, as the newbie to the secret society, you have to bring the snacks.

A GOOD first impression EVvy! Always good to butter up the experienced guys here (NOT me...I am only a new guy too). I'll echo the sentiments expressed above...welcome, no bad questions unless they have been flogged to death already. Your road experience does sound interesting...we look forward to your perspective. Have a good flight!

Dive Bomber! You read my mind! Earlier today when I replied to that new guy's introduction, I thought, phew, at least he doesn't yet have an Avatar! It is about time...I just didn't quite know how it was set up nor what I might do. That is wild you mention the "tropical places" since I do like the island thing. How about a beach with a palm or two? Use your judgement but better keep Manuela out of THIS! My fiancee would be a bit put out! Thanks!
