I ordered the maintenance manual, but it will not arrive until a week or so. I need information on the easiest way to run wiring from battery to handlebar area. I got the kit from optimate to have a usb port to charge my phone, gps, etc ... I should have no problem to secure it cleanly in the front near the phone/gps supports.

I am not very confident about removing parts of the fairing as this task seems very complicated. I am not too sure on how to lift the gas tank which seems even more complex....

What would be the easiest way to run the wire ? Which part of the fairing should I remove ? Photos of similar installations would be of great help.

I included a photo of the Optimate kit I purchase, ( less than 40$) .

    Thanks for any help/information provided.

Maybe I am missing something but I don't know which VFR you have? If I knew which version of VFR you had I might be able to give you some direction.

Have posted replies in the other forums you have asked the same question in.

All info you need is in owners manual.

I read the manual, (a few times), but could not find information on how to remove the side panels that are attached to the tank.

I removed the two screws holding the side panels but they are still secured to the tank with no visible screws or clips that I could find. I am worried that those plastic anchor points may break if mishandled or forced.

What is the procedure to remove the side panels ? (of the 8th generation) . A photo of the tank with the side panels off sure would be helpful to understand how it is attached.
