Hey guys, just purchased a NOS rear shock for my 86 750 and I was wondering a few things.

The spring on it says 1093-39/11.0, will that be an OK spring rate for some one like me- I weigh 235ish, like to get into twisties when I can.

Since this was purchased in 2000, will it be OK to ride for a few seasons before I send it to be rebuilt with new seals and oil/gas refills?

Anything else I need to know about this sweet looking shock before I slap it on the bike and take it for a spin?

    Thanks
    Ryan

The first number is the spring length which i believe to be 5.5".....don't quote me on that, the second number is an ohlins specification number....the number after the forward slash is the rate of the spring, and that number is 110nm, or 11.21 kg, or 628 lb. i'm thinking this spring is gonna be soft for your 235 pound weight, i'll make a wag and say that spring is for a rider 190-210 pounds. The only way you can tell is to set the sag and ride height according to the ohlins spec. if you can get the sag right, but the ride height is wrong...or vice a versa...then the spring is incorrect for your weight. if you get the sag set right, and the ride height is within the correct range, then yes it is the right spring.

you could also call Ohlins USA, give them the info off the spring and the shock and let them help you with their experience.

I wasn't sure if they would be able to help since this was a long discontinued shock but I'll kick them an email to see what they have to say.
