Just purchased my first bike a VFR750F (95) - a little old but hopefully gets me to work (and back). Hope to contribute in some fashion.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Fantastic bikes, doubt very much it will let you down if well maintained.

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse.

Loads of 750's still out there giving reliable service and hopefully it will be a great choice for your first bike. Even so they are a bit heavy - so take care until you get used to this - especially at low speed or when parking.

If you ever need to use the centre stand, it can be a challenge for lighter owners. So make sure it is on firm level ground, remove any panniers and top boxes and ideally get a friend ready to steady the bike from the opposite side whilst you stomp down on the centre stand lever. If however you find it is impossible to use the centre stand then it is very likely the bike has been lowered. The trick then is to raise the bike part way by riding the bike onto a scaffolding plank which is narrow enough to fit between the centre stand legs!

If you have only recently got your license don't forget your daily pre-ride checks - they would have been done for you if you learnt on a school loan bike. But now it is up to you to pay regular attention to tyres and brakes.

Non- service parts for 750s are getting a bit problematic and indeed some owners have resorted to buying a second 750 to use as a source of parts. Fortunately tyres and regular service stuff is still available from Honda or specialists like David Silver.

    Have fun and ATGATT.
