I have been doing research for the high mount system and would like to know which options I have for my 99. I would prefer better sound and quality but not willing to spend 700 for it. I have noticed the cheaper Delkevic and some others from Ebay. One I was considering I need to ask about is the GPR exhaust. Any experience with it here? Thnx

if you dont wanna spend 700 for a good exhaust, you may end up sticking with the stock exhaust. and delkevic is *alright*, but by no means high quality work....its just a little better (and more economical) than stock.

I have the Delkevic. It is quieter than a 2 Brothers and I think the quality is good. It was a high mount but I recently changed it to a low mount because I am now using soft saddle bags for trips.

Here is my Youtube link. The sound is not done justice with that camera. I think it sounds pretty good. Loud enough to be heard over wind noise but not so loud as to be annoying to others (I hope).

The bike pulled down 98.3hp on the dyno. It certainly didn't hurt anything.

The seat is a Sargent without the colored piping.

I have the 2 Brothers High mount on my bike, and I use soft saddle bags with a heat shield in between the bag and pipe. No problems. (Nelson Rigg bags and heat shield).

Depending on which bag you went with, they make an "exact fit" heat shield.

I've got a Remus Grand Prix carbon high mount. I love the sound of carbon pipes & was lucky enough to find one (new) on ebay in Aus. for about $350. If you are not in a hurry then deals will come along. A 2nd hand Staintune or something similar should pop up somewhere. PS - don't know what the quality is like but the D&D carbon sounds amazing to me & I don't think that they are too expensive (?)

I use a Micron carbon fiber can with high mount. Just the back bottom end of the right bag touches the can. No flames yet. I wouldn't do it with a metal can.

I bought the GPR high mount in CF oval a few months ago. I'll try to dig up some pics. Quality is good, mounting instructions in italian with crappy drawings. Sound is good. Deep not metallic. I'll try and take some pics. I will probably try to fab a different bracket of the sub frame so I can get rid of the passenger pegs. ( currently mounts to peg).

    I have the GPR.

People say my bike sounds like a big block V8. Not quite as loud as staintune but I am very happy with it...

Hey I decided to use the high mount and will want to buy the Can Baffle part separate from the High mount pipe. Is that available separate or should I Have to go to a muffler shop and have one custom fit? I mean I will then be able to put on any BRAND pipe that I choose. IS that available separate?

Good luck with that. Ask the vendor but I had no luck doing that.

Hard enough to find high mount for VFR800 with can. There was one place in UK that sold pipe separately for 240 AUD. I can't remember who they are but I emailed them and got no response for 3-4 weeks.

I had plenty of people tell me what I could do, but when I actually spoke to vendors/distributors there just wasn't a whole lot available.

Most vendors won't sell them seperate..

I had no luck finding 2 bros or hindle. The only options I found were staintune, remus and GPR.

This is nice if they have it in stock..

The Remus Grand Prix Exhaust for the Honda VFR800 for 1998-2001 adds horsepower while reducing weight. - Sport Tour Ltd.

Good luck in your search. The pain of searching is worth seeing a hi-rise on your bike...
