I just got back from a 4 day tour of the Rockies. Its funny what you think about during 1800 miles. I didn't pre-book any hotels, only because my destinations were never set in stone. As i pulled into each town in the early evening, tired, and wanting nothing but a hot shower and food, I wondered how I could make the process of selecting a hotel easier. There were usually 3 or 4 I would pass, and usually I wanted a good compromise between cheap and decent. I thought it would be a good idea to have a hotel section on this site. Maybe broken out in geographical location. That way, people can post where they have stayed, including price they payed and if it was decent, also including things like how secure the parking was. I stayed in Jasper, Banff and Nelson...all in British Columbia, and found all 3 hotels to be extremely reasonable on price for what I got. I think that is information that could be easily shared to make somebody else's hotel selection much easier.
