I'm using a vfr engine on a buggy and its best i can tilt the engine alittle bit (about 8 degrees?) due to chain clearance issues.

Obviously it will still work as bikes need to work up/downhill, but in the long term will this ruin fuel economy/foul plugs/etc?

8 degrees isn't a lot floats should be able to cope with that but you never know till you give it a try. maybe longer rubbers on the low side would help to level them up a bit

I agree. Might need to reset the float levels, but otherwise I don't think you'll have any problems.
