    Hi,

I'm seeking some knowledge regarding the Viffer's hydraulic clutch.

I noticed on ebay, while looking for a hydraulic clutch for my NC, that Viffers have been equipped with a hydraulic clutch for many years, I believe as far as 87.

They also look a lot like what I have on the brake side of my NC 700.

    I was wondering..

If one was to take the clutch setup of a VFR -

and use a "converter" slave, which I understand is needed if one's original clutch is a humble ol' cable, something like this -

Would such setup make sense, or even be feasible?

Also, are there any "generations" to the VFR's hydraulic clutch? Years where it was made better or worse?

Apologies for any mechanical noobness, these items seem to be not very pricey, and I figured it could make a nice touch (puntended) on my NC.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Eli

Not sure how that would be helpful but I put a braided line on my clutch (and my brakes) for better feel.

Do you remember which company, and/or which banjo sizes?

I can confirm that viffers have had exactly the same clutch and m/c since they became 750’s

My VFR750FK, 1989, has the same as my 2015 800

If you’re after hydraulic fittings eBay has plenty, they also have a complete kit that you can adapt by using a viffer m/cylinder ...this one was £20 ...$25, there’s loads

Do you happen to know which banjo fitting size the viffer mc uses? Or are they all generic size?

I don't remember which company. Banjo sizes are the same as on everything else but you need to buy one made for your bike as they come in different lengths and the banjos come out a different angles.

Parts fiche says 10x 22 so I’d say 10mm diameter

So a generic 10mm banjo, at the right angles, with the right line length. I know a garage that cuts HEL lines by size / angle, think I can give it a shot once the viffer mc arrives. Thanks!

just to make sure, is this the website you're referring to?
