Just purchased my first VFR, '04 with 5k miles on it. Red, Heli bars, Two Brothers exhaust and a 1" lowering kit. Love this bike! I do have a quick question I'm hoping someone might know the answer to... If I want to reinstall the stock exhaust, is there, or would there be any remapping to do? I don't know if the previous owner did any of that when he put the 2 Brothers system on? Some of you may think I'm nuts for doing it , but personally, I just really like the sound of the stock system, more engine sound than exhaust.

Anyway, just wanted to give a shout-out and say Hey.

Hello and welcome knute! Glad to have you! I would contact the previous owner and ask him the full extent of his mods....and if that included re-mapping, as that is the only way to tell. It is not necessary to re-map for only a slip on, as the bike's FI can compensate somewhat, but you never know.

    Welcome aboard, knute.

    Power Commander

Not sure if you have a Power Commander but you will need one to remap and you will want one regardless. Cleans up the throttle nicely.I have installed several on gen 6 and all were shocked at what we had gotten used to from stock.

Thanks for the reply Toe Cutter. I think I'd love to hook up a Power Commander, but for now it'll just have to wait. However, I was able to locate the dude who put the 2 Bro's exhaust on and he tells me he didn't do any remapping. Sooooo... I swapped out the 2 Bro's for the stock system, all's good in my little VFR world

Guess I should ask, what do you mean by "Cleans up the throttle nicely"?

    Throttle

The chop at off idle (the worst) and the entire rev range is MUCH smoother. The 02 I installed was not so clean at V-tech but on 07's it really made the V-tech stumble disappear.

Hmmm... may have to pop for one sooner rather than later... Thanks for the tip.

Any particular reason you wanted to go back to stock pipes? If you give me that aftermarket exhaust I'll be your best friend

    Regards,

Hey Rollin. Simple matter of preference, just like the sound of the stock system better. Little more engine sound than exhaust. Come on now man... can't just give 'em to you , however.... I'd certainly entertain an offer . I do plan on off loading them on eBay, or some where.
