I purchased a KOSO voltmeter, but not sure about which wire to tap into. The leads on the voltmeter aren't long enough to reach back to the tail light. Are there suitable wires to tap near the front or middle of the bike? I want the meter on only when the bike is on. The bike is a 2006. Thanks.

    IMHO...

The best setup is to wire direct to the battery with a switch and fuse on the positive side.
Flip the switch on before you start the bike to check battery health before you start the bike.
A lot of guys did the power a relay from the tail light thing for switching, I did that a while but decided
I didnt like it and went to the switched setup. -- Much better.
