Hi! Looking for a VFR this year, always liked 'em, especially for the V4 and SSS. I really like the 2009 Special Edition White scheme, I think they were sold in Canada. Is there any difference between a USA model and a Canadian model?

    1) I assume the digital display can be switched between Miles and Kilometers
    2) Does the label on the frame say 'USA' or 'Canada' or maybe 'North America'?

I ask to make sure I can get a Title transfer to the USA, not sure if that will be an issue...

Thanks for any information! Trying to decide on a color for my first Viffer!

There are 2 of those Special Edition White and Black 6th gens at my local Honda dealer. 1 is completely stock and almost brand new....the other is used and has a 2 bro's carbon fibre exhaust setup. Both gorgeous bikes.

I think the frame label says JAPAN on all the bikes...no?

The speedo and odometer can be switch back and forth with the push of a button. I have a US VFR and my engine temp is in Fahrenheit, I'm not sure if a Canadian VFR is in that or Celsius.

The VFR is easy to import into Canada, I've no idea on exporting one though. Something to think hard about though is how much extra are you willing to pay for the paint scheme? The reason so many Canadians import US bikes is they're significantly cheaper even with transporting them and taxes at the border.

A quick search on autotrader vs cyletrader shows 2 07's selling for 1000-$2000 more than up here in the US with 2-3x the mileage.

I don't know what the deal is , I guess you guys down there have more toys so you have to average out the miles between them :). But I see tons of low mileage vfr's for sale in the US, a lot of times with more bells and whistles too.

Hmm, I didn't think about price difference... I guess I didn't think there was any! I'll have to look into that. For sure, the only reason I was looking was cause I really like the paint scheme. I do see one 09 white one for sale in Illinois, but he hasn't responded yet to my email. Wondering what the story is with that bike (they sell knock off bodywork in that scheme from China).

Does that dealer have a website? Worth checking out - if the price is right... I can ask about exporting to US as well. Customs / taxes may be huge as well!

    Thanks!

I honestly can't see many bikes being imported into the US, but if you google a bit you may find some info online. My guess it'll be guys mainly importing grey market bikes that someone imported to Canada.

Just looked at that one on cycletrader, there's no way whatsoever your gonna get that bike up here for that price, even more so with the hardbag set up.

There's a number listed on his Ad, did you try calling? I wouldn't be surprised if it's sold, mispriced or just a scam ad. $5600 for an 09? there's 06's listed higher than that:crazy:.

Something you might want to consider other than the knock off chinese farings is just grab a white 06+ and then get it painted. Fairings are $500ish off ebay and some have questionable fit. What's a shop want to paint a bike in your area?

It does seem very odd at that price. I don't get it. However, I WILL call him and really check this out. Not sure what the story is...

After emailing and trying to get some proof of the title, etc., I am getting no response. Decided this particular one is too suspicious, and I live 1000 miles away, so I can't check it out.

He said $5600 WITH shipping. WITH shipping?? Not worth the risk.
