Is the ABS worth it? Reliable?

I'll be completing the sale on my old bike tomorrow. Then the next day, I'm headed to the Honda dealer where I need to choose between an a VFR (2005 model) with ABS or without ABS. Generally, I like the idea of ABS... I just don't know how well it works on a motorcycle and specifically, how well it works on the VFR. SO... two questions for those that have experience with both...

1. Is the ABS worth it? (mind you that I put 15,000 miles a year on a bike).

2. Is the ABS on the VFR reliable?
