For a while I've been wanting to get a rear seat rest so that my son (age 9) wouldn't run the risk of sliding off the back of the bike. I finally had some spare cash to get my local bike shop to make one for me.

It's removable, bolts under the rear hand grips, and I've got to give kudos to Mike at Church Street Cycles in Pickerington, Ohio. They did a really good job on it. I told him that I'd post it here in case anyone was interested in getting one from him. Total cost to me was $250 US.

    WOW! This looks amazing!

Thank you for sharing the idea and who did the work!

Have you been able to give him a ride with it on? How do you boys like it in action?

Very nice! I've been relying on my givi as a backrest for my daughter. But it's nowhere near that solid.

    Hi, Josh

Images are no longer showing in your post. What year is your bike? Could you please re-post images?

    Images are posted here.

    The bike is a 2002.

We've had some rides on it, both with my son, and with my girlfriend. Both like it. It's more of a butt stop than a back-rest. It is primarily to help them from slipping backward if I have to do a quick acceleration.
