WOW! What a blast, I can't begin to describe how nice it was to ride my 97 VFR today. A small cold wave is passing through GA this weekend so I decided this morning when it was sunny to ride up to my grandparents' place in Cartersville on the bike taking back roads through Canton. The bike ran great the whole time, it was cool enough to gear up and I opened her up for the first time and damn...thats fun stuff. Anyways I'm sure all of yall remember your first rides out..any stories???? Have a good'n

Congrats on the purchase! I'm still waiting to get mine....but I sure hope it will be soon. Nothing like cruis'in those back country roads.....I'm dying over here without a VFR...

I remember criusin the back roads on my Nighthawk-S 14 years ago, and suddenly feeling that dip in temperature as the elevation changed ever so slightly....ohhhhh man.

haha yes the viffer is addictive! Sounds like a nice ride. It is nice to get on the back country roads. My first viffer ride I intended to drive straight home about 20 miles from the dealer as I wasn't familiar with the bike. Well I did make it home just fine, but not until 150 miles later.

I remember like it was last summer...well, it was last summer.
round in circles on the airport tarmac.
The first trip on the road was right past the Sheriff's ofc. No permit, no tags, wee!
    I am a rebel, aren't I?

haha rebel you! well if ILLEGAL road rides count then nothing compares to my run in with the county sheriff on my KDX220 when I was like 14 lol, he shook my bones a bit but thats only because he saw me wheelie 200 yds down a road I use to live off of! This ride had a pleasant cop free route (at least today). The only thing I really need to get use to is being more affirmative on my 1st to 2nd due to neutral false shifts. Im becoming more mindful but it still happens when I forget to give a good shift. Anyone else have that problem when starting off?

I've had mine about a month now and every so often I'll still miss 2nd. As for the first ride I bought mine from a guy in north Nashville TN and had to drive through rush hour traffic on cop infested roads without tags...And it had been two years since I even sat on a bike. Not very relaxing. Now I'm all legalfied and have put 1500 miles on the bike in the first month and it never fails to bring a smile to my face!
