Hi all , I own a 1987 VFR700F2 that I when I bought it , it had a complete Kerker exhaust on it . I have always liked the sound it made ! But lately , meaning in the last year or so . It has started to get louder & louder . Sounds kind of raspy now . My question is has any one ever tried to repack the canister ? If so , what was your results ? Are you now happy with it ? Was it easy ? How did you go about it ? What materials were needed & where did you access them ? Any & all help is wanted ? Thanks in advance ! I know one or many of you experts are hear to enlighten me with your experiences

Had a Kerker on a KZ 1000 a long time ago, I love that sound, so distinct. There are a load of videos on the net of how to do it. I have repacked dirt bikes cans a lot of times. Keep that Kerker, repack her!

Does your system look like this?
I repacked my Kerkers last summer with a high density furnace insulation I had left over. I wrapped perforated pipes with woven fiberglass to prevent fibers from getting blown out. Works great, sounds good, but don't know how long it will last. I had it and it was free, so I used it.

There are steel wool repack kits too, not sure how good they are.

What I found on line weren't cheap, I was at the end of the project and over budget!
