Connect Koso DB 01 Speedometer to my Honda VFR 750 1997 Hello guys/girls, I had a small motorcycle accident a couple of weeks ago an am rebuilding my bike. I am trying to connect the Koso DB 01 speedometer to my Honda VFR 750 1997. But I just cant get the following to work correctly: - Speedometer - Tachometer - Fuel - Heathsensor/ kooling light Can someone help me out? I am trying to do it using only the cables that go into my old cockpit.
I'd hate to see your idea of a "big" accident. The original speedo is mechanical, not sure how you're gonna integrate that.
You need to use their sensors and their sensor wires, the one's that came with the dash package. Don't chop up your harness, you'll be regretting it when you do and the dash doesn't work. There are no shortcuts here.
Got the following things working by just following the manual: 1. The fuelsensor is working now by just connecting the fuel wire of the koso (green) to the signalwire of the fuelsensor (green/black). It wasn't showing on the speedometer because you have to change the interface by holding de left button for 3 seconds. 2. The temperature light however is staying on while it only should light up when the bike is too hot. I am guessing that the signals aren't the same. The signalwire of the temperature sensor is normally giving a voltage to a potentiometer but in this case it's to a light in the koso. Those two wires are connected so i am guessing that's the problem but i have no idea how to fix that yet (kosso [yellow/white] to vfr750 signalwire temperature sensor radiator [Green/Blue]). 3. The tachometer is working right now with some trial & error. The koso unit supplies 2 additional wires for connection of the rpm signal. One is designed to put directly in between the coil and the signal wire. The other one is to connect with the tachometersignal wire that was normally connected to the old tachometer. You don't actually need both of these cables unless you want an extra lenghty cable. The wire to put on the coils wasn't working in my case so i used the other one and connected it to ([Yellow/Green] ) wire of the vfr harness. Don't forget to changes the settings of the kosso for the rpm signal to work. To change the settings you have to hold both buttons of the koso for about 3-6 seconds until the interfaces changes. Then the second number on the screen should be 2 and the p-setting has to be p-2. This gives that the bike has 4 pulsations per revolution. 4. The speedometer is currently still a bit of a headache because i dont know if the original speedwire can be connected to one of the three wires that are available for the speedometer. These three wires are together in one plug. The instructions say that you have to instal the new speedsensor that is given to get it to work but i am wondering if i can just rewire the orignal speedwire to one of those wires to get it to work. If anybody knows let me now. Otherwise i think i have to make a construction for the sensor. So far my experience with the koso speedometer. Thanks for the read and if you got the answers for me, thank you in advance.
