Can I flip my rear shock tri plates to drop my 96 about an inch? Or is that only for the 800?
I also want to drop my fork tubes a little , maybe an inch or less .
    Any recommended methods ? Thanks,MM

You can rotate also. I don't know how much that lowers though. You might have to alter or replace the side stand too after either way of lowering.

just keep riding and pretend the bike isn't too tall for you, the longer you ride your bike the smaller it feels. 10mm is the most you could safely move the forks.

Found some of the issues. The chain was adjusted by rolling the axle to the bottom instead of the top of the eccentric. That lowered it by about 1,25 in.
The forks preload screw was full in. Backed it out a few turns. Much softer , much nicer.
The rear spring worm gear was screwed up about 1/4 in or more. Let it down to flush . Another 1/2 in in the rear now. Now it is pretty good . I can flat foot the bike and it rides very nice. Next is a fresh set tires.
I may flip the tri plate and see how I like it ,

Another stupid question. Is the tach supposed to be dead center above the triple nut? I think that it is . Mine is off a tiny bit and my plastics dont like it . Thanks,MM

Yknow.... I have my 95 on the lift doing a bunch of work and I was looking at that exact thing. Yes tach is dead center.

Good news is that because the upper cowl stay can be moved so easy, it can be moved back too.

As someone who has lowered quite a few motos, pretending that an unsafe situation will go away, would not be my course of action.
