Okay guys I warned you that I am mechanically inclined and electrically challenged. I was working through the fault finding diagram that I found in another thread and everything was checking out fine until it asked me to use the diode test mode. I didn't know what to set the meter at. Every other test was clearly labelled on the chart and meter. I have a mid grade craftsman digital/analog meter. Any help on what I am looking for on the dial would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I accidentally disconnected the battery while it was running and the bike shutdown immediately. A buddy of mine said his quad does the same thing and not to worry. Is this correct? I always thought that means the motor is not producing enough "juice" to run itself and the alternator is bad. In the case of a bike the stator. Am I wrong or could this still be the RR?
