Micron hi-mount round aluminum slip-on exhaust

I really like this can!

It sits about half-an-inch below the bodywork and looks really sweet on the '94 to '97 VFR. It tucks in under the body - it doesn't stick out like other hi-mount cans. It also completely exposes the rear wheel. The exhaust tip is right in line with the license plate on my Tailocker.

It gets warm but not hot - the plastic will take the heat when you consider the amount of heat the engine puts out at the fairings. I like Micron's quality and their attention to detail - heat shield, mounting bracket at the footpeg, etc.

My buddy Patrick has the Micron hi-mount oval carbon fiber slip-on. I like the sound of the round aluminum better. It's a little louder and not as boomy as the carbon fiber one. My can will decrease its volume somewhat, as the fiberglass packing becomes 'soaked' with the moisture from the exhaust.

I always liked the sound of the V4 engine but you don't really hear it sing until you put a can like this on. I'm not into poser style mod's. I did this one for me because I like song of the engine…even with earplugs and the helmet on. The increased volume allows me to hear what the engine is up to, in the corners especially.

I'm really going to have to watch the noise level in my neighborhood early in the morning when I use the bike for the work commute. The spec. sheet that came with the Micron can shows that the noise level is 100db at 5,500 rpm.

I noticed a _slight_ increase in power but this might be due to how the brain perceives the increased noise level.

Overall, the new tires and exhaust have changed my bike's character for the better. My bike has come alive!

Time to change my sig. ;-)
