hello to everyone, today my mechanic must mount me the riser bar motopump from 1.25 and says that we must also raise the forks. Why on the forum it is said that it is not necessary?

    Two steps.
    1. Change your mechanic.
    2. Fit the bar risers.

Seriously, just do it yourself, easy job.

I'll like to second all these people. I put my 1.25 on with ease, and I'm a mechanical idiot. All joking aside, you should really find a new mechanic! He or she is really trying to scam you.

I think the reason your mechanic probably said that is the fact the 1.25" riser will cover the whole exposed section of the fork tube that's above the upper triple clamp. When you attach your handle bar, it will only be secured by the Allen bolts supplied in the kit. I didn't feel I needed that much rise, I used the 0.6" risers which give a more "factory" look after installation. I wanted to have the bars still cover the fork tubes for a bit more security. You could lower the fork tubes, but you'll change the ride geometry.

[/ QUOTE]

I put them plug and play, now I do a few miles to try them if I feel good I leave them like that.

As long as you have enough slack in your cables, it's easy to do yourself.

Lose that mechanic - he has no idea what he's doing.
