The road of choice: Mt. Baker Hwy (WA-542)
    When: Sunday July 27th

    UPDATED

    Meet Points:

    * North - Tim Hortons, 1861 Sumas Way, Abbottsford, 8am
    * South - Haggen Grocery, 757 Haggen Dr, Burlington, WA 10am Breakfast...? Lunch...?

Burlington is 1h20m away from Sumas via Hwy 9 and and 1h 21m from Seattle. Seems like a great middle meet spot (thanks chomper) Then it's just 1h50m back to the top of Baker from there.

For the north people, 8am at TH will get us at the border a few minutes after we depart hopefully missing the Sunday morning rush. It's a 1h20m ride down to Burlington. If the wait at the border is nothing and ride down is 100% we will be 30-40minutes early in Burlington... like that will happen

If Symphony of Fire is the day before then I will be out of the picture but I think the first night of that is the following Wednesday. You should know this!

If i might make a suggestion on a Southend meeting place: the Haggens grocery store in Burlington. Its just off the freeway at the Hwy 20 exit and easy to get into and out of.

I am working days as well but I will have to cleanup all the file mess after the boys go home so it is looking like I will be out of the picture for this one anyways. Maybe a few of us can do it again on a different date this summer sometime. They wanted me to work extending my shift and come in as well during my normal shift.

Lets see now. Leave home at 02:30 for 04:30 start. Shift supposed to be over at 15:00 but stay for Symphony of Fire which gets me off shift probably somewhere around 01:00. Drive an hour home and take a dump, them jump right back on the bike and head in for the next 04:30 start again. Guess what my answer to that was?:kaboom::flip::chairshot:

    Baker Ride

    Jason,

Sorry. 27th is definitely out for me. :frown: Not only do I work, my son arrives back to Canada from 3 months away in Australia. Kinda think that takes priority. I will have to see if some of those who could not make it, may want to try another day possible mid week or something.

I will be there looking forward to meeting some other riders, and I live on Hwy 9 so I'm always making excuses to go ride anyway

This sounds great! I will endeavor to get up on time or meet you at the top at least!
Might I suggest Silver lake rd on the return journey north. It by passes the boring bits between Maple Falls and Columbia (#547 is straight as an arrow). You southern riders should enjoy Mosquito lake rd on your return journey, it connects north east of Deming on #542 and meets #9 at Acme.

    Cheers, Ryan
