This is a flyer, but I thought there might be some VFRW buddies who can help me out.
I'm travelling cross-country this September. From Connecticut to Arizona. Starting with about 2 weeks of screwing around in the Kentucky and North Carolina area.
From the 27th of September to the 1st of October I need to make real fast time on the interstate. From Virginia to Mesa, AZ. Plan on spending the night in Nashville, TN---Tulsa, OK---Albuquerque, NM after 500+ mile days.
Now here is where you come in.
I camp along the way, but that costs 20 dollars a night. Since I am going to be high ballin' it for those 3 days, I know that I'm going to be flopping down at dusk and riding out by dawn.
I need someone to offer to let me pitch my tent in your backyard or lot. If I'm saving 20 bucks, I could spend the money more wisely on a case of beer, or on some gas.
I don't shower, and I pack in my own coffee.
Can you help a brother out?

maybe you shouldn't have said that you don't shower.....

can't help you brother...I'm all the way on the west coast. but what I can help you with is this...we just made that drive...there is road construction all the way across. and 5-0 sitting at all the borders coming and going...

    I-40 corridor?

Most of the mileage is I-40. Cops everywhere? Construction? I'm staying home.

    Got caught once...

At the end of const. zone, completely alone on a Sunday morning. Florida's finest had essentially set up a road block. 3 squad cars, and they were waving down every person that came through, because nobody was going 25mph.
I have a radar detector set up on my dash. It has yet to go off in the state of Connecticut, though. Either the police don't use them much, or they are very disciplined in using the trigger. I haven't even gotten a reflected signal yet.:confused::confused:

Seeing my hometown is daytona beach florida I hear you... cops are everywhere along the beach side. If you feel the itch to see what your baby can do at least go further inland and scout the area first.

    Hey, allright.

    We've got a live one!
Hey PokerPlayer, your not one of those crazy serial killers, are you???
Those directions sound like I'm going into an industrial area. Do you live there so no one can hear the screams of your victims?
Do you have 7 VFR's in your garage that people rode in, and never rode out???
Do serial killers spend a lot of time on internet forums?? I'll bet they do.
    Joplin, huh?
Doesn't Tulsa have Cowboy Hall of Fame? Is there a statue of S.E. Hinton anywhere in town? I've always wanted to visit, but doubt if I will have time. Maybe on the way back.

    No offers, huh?

I find it hard to believe that everyone on VFRW forums has an 18 year old daughter, 12 year old Scotch, or weed growing on the back forty.
I'll keep it zipped, buy my own beer, and keep my mouth shut if that will help.

Just a thought.... I spent 10 months all over the country riding and sleeping out..... when I saw a wooded area with a way to pull in.... If there was a car or anyone that could see me pull off, I'd ride on by and come back to time it so when I do pull off, no one will see me do it..... If they don't know you're there you're safer........ Just be sure they can't see you from the road.... Watch your light at night....... Worked in the war zone.... It'll work in America.

Way to far south for you but if you did swing buy yes you could camp out in the back yard. I would even be nice enough to let you use the shower.
