Need pricing info. 1985 VF750F

I have one 85' Interceptor, that's not working well, and needs a few parts to be perfect(for me). I have an ad on the local Kijiji and was offered a deal on another 1985 VF750F, with 22,000 k.m.. Is in very good shape, with a damaged rear cowl, by where you put the key in for the seat. He wants $3000.00, but isn't firm on that price. Am I a fool if I pay $2400.00?

 

Ended up being old pictures! Though it runs very well, the chain & sprockets are original, suspension is sacked, brakes are spongy, valves tick, etc. etc.! Still was an above average bike with stock paint. Ended up offering him $2200.00. He never accepted, but if he can't sell it for more will call me. If anyone wants a lead on a good 1985 750 'Ceptor, for $3000.00 o.b.o., let me know.
