The price of the bike is very good considering the low mileage on it for it's age. If you do decide to buy it I would definately upgrade the R/R unit on it or carry a spare in case you have electrical problems. I also need to warn you in advance that these 3rd Gen put out alot of heat and your inner thighs will get baked especially during these hot summer months. Other than that, these bikes are very dependable and should last you a long time. You'll also need to factor in an oil change and possible new tires for the trip depending on the current tread condition. Also keep in mind that the bike is past due for a valve check if it hasn't been done already. As far as overall comfort goes, the bike is more comfortable than a full blown street bike but you are gonna be sore especially if it still has the stock seat which is almost 20 years old now.

    Regards,
    Rollin

VFR are not really made for go stop city traffic. The bike was design as a sport touring and for open roads. When you get stuck in traffic most of us start praying the engine does not blow out due to getting hot.Temp will go 220F and higher.
I am sort of used to it by now but everytime I am stuck in traffic in hot weather I get nervous.
In retrospect I wished I bought a FZ1 or SV1000! I still love my bike but I am being honest.
