So, yesterday me and a buddy take our Viffers to a MSF advanced rider course. I've noticed before that when my bike has been running around town for a while, the neutral indicator (light) sometimes flickers, like it has a loose connection. When the bike is first started up, or only goes for a short distance, I never have this problem. So, during the course, you have to start and stop a lot, making the bike good and hot. (I think my cooling fan ran more during those 5 hours than it has ever run in it's entire life!!!) Towards the middle of this 5 hour course, if I shifted into neutral (with a flickering indicator) and then put the side stand down, the engine would shut off, as if the bike was still in gear. I haven't checked or removed the neutral switch, yet. Can someone enlighten me as to what it's doing? Is it just a plunger type switch that gets pushed in (or out) when the tranny is in Neutral? Whether the bike is cool or hot, if I put the side stand down when the bike is in gear, it kills the engine, as it should. So, I'm thinking I don't have a problem with the side stand switch.

    What do you guys think......?

    Now here's a funny addition.....

When the bike is warmed up and the neutral light is doing it's "flickering" thing, if I lean the bike to the right, the light stays on constant. If I lean the bike to the left, the neutral light goes out! Almost like the neutral switch is worn down, or something.

    Weird..............
