Before upgrading to the Shorai Lithium battery I noticed a strange vibration in the footpegs while idling or even while at constant throttle on the interstate. This morning was the my first ride to work with the new battery and I no longer feel that same vibration. Is it possible that changing the battery helped make the engine run smoother?
Was the old battery in there tight or was it able to vibrate some? Because if it were a little loose the vibration from something that heavy could be felt. I know on my 98 I can tell a bit more vibration when the gas tank is getting low versus when its full. But as far as the running of the motor no a battery isn't going to make it run any smoother. Unless the old one were so low voltage wise it was cutting out. But it would have to be extremely low and then more than likely you would be having regulator\rectifier problems or stator problems
Proper voltage = proper spark and more consistent fuel delivery. It is possible, just unlikely unless your old battery was positivley trashed.
