I can’t seem to find the first question…..

As to the second question, I wouldn’t think it would be reasonable or compassionate to refuse care. You wouldn’t know the personal situation of each patient. Why have they chosen not to vaccinate? Who is the judge of “mis-information”? There are many things that were once considered mis-information that are now plausible.

I think it’s better to use the best information available and lead by example bringing people along instead of forcing obedience.

Remember when so many talking heads said they’d never take a rushed “trump” vaccine? The left politicized this issue and is reaping the rewards of it now. Then the FDA puts a pause on the J&J early on causing more vaccine doubt….. so much mismanagement

Tink I will watch the video shortly, heading to the airport on my way home from a shoot up north. I think I might have seen the vid you posted and there are many that debunk it. I can post those later. The internet is just like an exponential virus infection with so much misinformation and agendas out there. Reg’s example of the mechanic hits it on the head.

kind of like when the prevailing opinions of the day was that meat and eggs are bad, with vegetable oil substitutes are good? And don’t forget when popular science was that grazing small meals all day was best and now most folks say intermittent fasting is best for humans?

we just don’t know half as much as we think we think we know at any given time!

Made it the airport, I’ll try and watch the video.
The firewall at this airport seems to be a bitch. Buddy of mine got an order in on the brand new NSX where they’re only going to import 350 in the states and I tried to go to their website and the airport Wi-Fi blocked it. Had to turn off Wi-Fi and use the airwaves. Lol

I have five vaccinated friends that all came down with the Chinese bat fever in the last two weeks. One had the Johnson & Johnson, two had the Moderna, and two the Pfizer. I am vaccinated but find the effectiveness of the vaccine to be a bit discouraging. I think those that are not willing or waiting for the shot have a solid argument aside from that were a freeish people.

Too many friends have gone from this place in the past 18 months, and U.K. statistics show that most of the current deaths are non vaccinated folks, it does not stop you getting it or passing it on, but the vaccine will probably save your life

I had it from Christmas into the new year, I am still suffering with blood clots on the lungs and breathing difficulties

Stop being stupid and get vaccinated

The materials used in the mask and the fit are the most important. It is not true that any ask is better than no mask. Certain masks like thing polypropylene and 1 layer thin cotton can break the larger particles into smaller ones that escape easily when speaking that actually make it worse than no mask . But a decent mask does a very good job of protecting the wearer and others. This 1st video uses a laser to show particle expulsion, very interesting.

    bunch of other mask tested.

Difference being that the Bangladesh study shows real world RESULTS in ACTUAL APPLICATION by the general public. (Not yelling, just emphasis)
Not simulation in laboratory. Cloth masks were not statistically effective. Even the medical grade mask was disappointing but did show some effect.

Have you ever been to Bangladesh?
Have you seen how the living/working/COVID testing situation is like in Bangladesh?
Just how are these "real world application & results" similar to real world experience in America?
Why do you believe in a non-peer reviewed study from Bangladesh over our own FDA or CDC for protecting Americans?

Honestly I'm not sure how much credence that video gets. I would like to see a study where the data is not displayed in villages in Bangladesh.
Besides, there have been decades of study of transmission through masks and it is universal that they do work. But it depends on type, how well it is used, subject(s) distances and air/space/factors. The flu alone has been studied enormously and masks were proven back then many many times. And we still can't get rid of those ever mutating bugs. Covid is in the Earths population and is going to be here until who knows when. Perhaps when we figure out the flu we can figure out this super bug. The problem is that it is very aggressive and very transmissible. And we have to keep the economy going and people lives going at the same time. I believe the best fastest way is through people getting on the same page, wear a mask, get vaccinated and get on with living.

I'm still good with it being your choice as to whether or not to get vaccinated... nature will run its course.

But for those who choose not to... I ask... how many vaccines are currently in your body? :)

It continues to be a fair point that most (almost all?) of us have been vaccinated at childhood and/or throughout our lives... at a regular doc appt a couple of years back I needed a booster for something, TB or whatever... did I even consider resisting it? Of course not, why would I? Who the hell wants TB in 2021 when we have a preventative medicine? I also brush my teeth a couple of times a day so my mouth doesn't rot out... just like my VFR and my car... preventative maintenance!

Its a status thing now to say I'm a resistor! Whether your resist vaccines, death penalty, abortion, etc etc, its how a group defines themselves... I go out and protest/resist/fight the power! But wait, hasn't that existed throughout time? Its just focused on the vacc right now as COVID has been the dominant news story for a year+ now and has massively impacted our day to day lives. Makes perfect sense that this is the current item for the 'resistors' to make their stand with! I suspect that if/when the furor/non-stop news coverage of COVID starts to ease off, and its no longer popular to fight the vacc, it stops being a status symbol and folks just get the shot like it was any other.

I was going to mention the status thing but decided not to. But after your post I do think that some people are definitely into that thing. Is this from ignorance or stupidity?

There is a huge difference between Ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance is just the lack of knowledge and can be fixed with education, stupidity is not having the capacity to obtain that knowledge.

I think it’s simply that some people are early adopters (new technology etc, numerous books on the subject) and others are wired to wait and see. And the more you attempt to use force on people the less trustful they become of whatever is being forced on them.

then the harder you’ve forced your opinion or mandate on them, the harder they dig their heels in to preserve their own autonomy and it becomes harder for them to give up their current position or viewpoints.

With vaccines, it is not a piece of new technology, using vaccines to fight diseases have been around for ages.
It's a matter of life & death among Americans, human beings.

Comedian/physician Ken Jeong put it nicely this way about vaccines:

Nobody is forcing anyone to get vaccinated; getting vaccinated does not violate your freedom.

I agree, especially Americans don't want to be told what to do. But we have the capacity to unite, run to the fire and get shit done. Something has to change or this will drag on for a long time.

The first question wasn't a question as much as an expression of confusion.
What do you suggest when leading by example has been less than effective?
To your last question, no I do not remember anyone saying they would not take a rushed Trump vaccine. I know many people you'd call liberal and I never heard one of them say anything like that. I do not recall ever hearing anything like that on the news, either.
The only place I've ever heard anything like that is similar to the way you just stated it where someone says don't you remember the left refusing etc, etc.
But no, I do not recall that. I'm not saying you can't find a source somewhere, but if it was such a popular statement, you'd think I'd at least recall something like that.
I generally read the newspaper and watch just the regular local news, though. I don't catch much FOXnews, CNBC, MSNBC, or CNN type TV.
