New Member from Indianapolis

Hello all!:smile:

New to this site, but not the VFR. I have owned my 1995 since purchasing it new in December of 1994. Prior to that I had lusted after them since the early 90s.
History of the bike.....
1994 Purchased in Jackson Tennessee. Took many rides to the east side of the state + Carolinas including "tail of the dragon" and Road Atlanta for AMA racing. Wasted stock Dunlops easily in two seasons. Aerostitch 2 piece became best friend.
1997 Moved to Livermore California and worked in Santa Clara. Year round riding and commuting. Became lane splitting spoiled commuting. Bay area and Northern California is by far the best riding I have done in my life. Laguna Seca puts Road Atlanta to shame. World Superbike events are incredible.
1999 Moved to Shawnee Kansas and worked in Kansas City. Sorry for anyone who loves riding and lives in the plain states. Bike saw little use outside commuting about 2X week there when weather allowed.:frown:
2001 Moved to Draper Utah and worked in Salt Lake City. My job was a PITA and kept me from taking long rides. I made occasional canyon runs, but had the most fun there off-road in my 4X4 pick-up.
2004 Placed all my stuff, including VFR, in storage prior to a move to Indianapolis. Had our first daughter and forgot about riding until....
2005 Registered bike in Indiana and have done little riding outside of commuting to work. Time with my daughter has taken a bite out riding.

Hope to pick up some good info here and get on the upswing with my saddle time again.

If you live in Indy, you will have to head south for any decent riding. It starts to get twisty around Bloomington and then going south or east or both.

I live in Batesville, IN and ride a '95 VFR also.

Thanks guys. I have heard things at the office about the southern part of Indiana. Maybe this summer....
I'll have to look up "the copperhead." I'm not familiar. I have occasion to go to AL for work. There's a plant in Lanett just across the GA boarder I get to a couple times a year. What I really want to do down there is go to the Barber museum. Maybe a swing through Birmingham is in order on one of my plant visits. I usually fly to Atlanta and drive over, but it sounds like a bike trip may be in order......Hmmmmmm.....
I'll get in touch if things line up.

 

I've been to Barber (museum and inaugural AMA event) and will be there again in April. Won't have the bike there, unfortunately. Anyway, the museum and track/grounds are awesome.
