Aaaaand it sold. Womp Womp. I’ll be on the lookout for more VF700Fs, even if they’re mis-labeled =)

As everyone has said, stick to a 86 or newer VFR. I had a brand new VF500F and it dropped a valve at 9500 miles and 11 months. Just before the warranty was up. Honda had to pick up the bill on that repair. I was lucky and the dealer was really helpful during the repairs. In 86 I bought a VFR700FII and have no regrets. I still have the bike and am in the process of bringing it back to life after a long hiatus. Good luck finding your project bike, a VFR is worth the effort.

^^^ so you refuse to take good advice ?? :(

that bike is unreliable and overpriced. as others have said, honda didn't make good interceptors until 1986.

you may be ignorant and apparently haven't done enough study to learn about that bike's serious flaws.

if you can afford to pay that kind of money, you can find a good vfr from the 1994-1997 series that's 100 times better than any old vf like that one in the ad.

    Running off Captain 80s above.

If it’s running well at 16,000 miles I’m assuming the cam issue didn’t touch this bike.

And if it did? It gets fixed or the engine swapped.

There have been worse things, and frankly I enjoy tinkering inside of bikes almost as much as I do riding them.

A bunch of shit is different. Upper cowl and tank are completely different. The rear cowl and handles is the same as the 750, but the side covers are different too. The original seat cover says "1000".

The seller doesn't even know he has a 1000.

    Not a good sign.

I think he might, he lists it as a “super bike”.

I was going to reach out just ahead of thanksgiving but no matter, the search continues.

No. He states it was made for 3 years starting in 1983. The 1000F was 1984 only. He thinks it's a 750.
