Hello VFR World. I'm new among you, really happy to be here, and new to Sport-Touring class...I've ridden cruisers for years but took a ride on a friend's VFR and saw the light! Needless to say I'm looking to buy a VFR and was hoping for some advice on this one:

    2003 VFR
    18600 kms (11550mi)
    $6600CAN (6450US)

It has new rubber, front sprocket changed and the oil has always been up to date. Other than that, no major service. Never been dropped or wrecked. I know there were some serious recalls for the wiring harness on 2003 VFR's, I have yet to inquire about that, and apparently the first valve service isn't due until 25000kms.

Anything major I should keep a lookout for? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks!

    Welcome aboard.

That price seems slightly high for a 2003. I see it has low miles, but IMO should be about a thousand less. Is the seller offering extras with it? i.e. aftermarket seat, luggage, aftermarket exhaust?

If the wiring recall were done at a dealer, there should a little punch stamp next to the vin number on the frame. The only other issue is the regulator/rectifier. Honda skimped on their design for many years. A tell tale sign of r/r issues is burnt or brittle wires connected to it. The r/r is located in the tail section under the plastic.

    Good luck.

Hey thanks for the help. I went for it, I was able to talk the price down a bit. The bike was immaculate! Many thanks again.
