I'm 51 or 53, can't recall. I was raised on the 90s. I love the big body sport bikes, had many. One bike eluded me. 90 - 93 VFR 750. I just could never find one.. Until 2 weeks ago.

I'm retired USAF, spent 24 years starting as a MWD or military working dog handler, kennel master to NCOIC of the MWDTS at Lackland

18 yr old lives with his Papa. Kids first bike, he was told the VFR was too big for his first bike.. Like us, he bought it. Original owner he paid 8400.00 then spend 2k for new carbs and all the typical things.

First ride, 10 feet out of the driveway, dropped. Thankfully for him and me, it scared him. I happen to see it 8 minutes after he posted on Facebook, 20 minutes from me in North Florida.. Went over that night, bought it for 800.00.

That weekend, a week ago I had to do a few things.
    1. Starter clutch
    2. Small pin hole on bottom of tank.
    3. New fuel pump, this one constantly ran.
4 Attempted to repair the middle fairing, left side. No luck, hopefully someone has one I can buy.

So I get it running, runs 95% but something isn't right. Warmed up, the idle is too low, it'll stall. It's also running a little rich.

Now he dropped it on the left side so I was thinking when he dropped it one of the float's were acting up. Hadn't dug into it. I don't hear any vacuum leaks, but after I go WOT it's most certainly running rich. .

So, low idle warmed (I know simple adjustment left side, but if it's something different, I don't want to start there)

Second, running rich. No way to tell what carb? I've never had a V4, so I'm not rushing into the repair since I am well aware you guys are the cream of the crop.

Also, I know wrong forum, anyone have mid fairing left side?

I live in Crestview Florida by the way.

    Thanks Bill.

First off, congrats on the bike. I love my RC36-I.

In my opinion, the carbs will need a thorough deep dive. "Remanufactured" carbs? What?

So nothing was verified, just installed? Who "remanufactured" the carbs?

There are so many things that can go slightly wrong properly rebuilding and installing V4 carbs that can have a very big effect on runability.

How did the carb insulators look?

Lastly, good luck on the cowl. You will need it. Not trying to be a downer, just be prepared to look, look often, and have a fair amount of $$$ holstered to act fast for anything decent.

They have been replied in June. But yesterday I found this. I almost pooped on myself knowing the carbs have just been replaced.

This is what I've had to go.
    1. Replace the starter clutch
    2. Fuel pump
    3. Fuel filter
    4. Plugs
    5. Starter relay.

The starter relay, I bought off Amazon lasted 1 week. Yesterday I went to start, nothing.
    I checked:

    1. Power at starter once start button pressed. Wire remained neutral.
    2. Fuse in relay, good
    3. Starter wire from relay, no power
    4. Resistance from ground from B+ starter, nothing so it's ok.
    5. Continuity from B+ to relay. Continuity to both sides of relay.

    I learned, don't buy cheap.

I'm in desperate need of middle fairing, left side.

I guess I wasn't reading the shop work order correctly. So they tried cleaning, didn't run right and replaced with a set "remanufactured" carbs?

I still stand by my opinion that all the carb "work" needs to be verified.
