    Hi everyone,

I'm a very new rider and have just recently purchased an 85 interceptor. Love it so far, breeze to ride and gets looks everywhere I go (not what I'd expected from an 80's bike).

However, noticed something that I assume i've been riding with for awhile now. I'm not particularly mechanically educated but would love to learn (part of my motivation in getting involved with bikes). But I think I have a pretty big crack in the crankcase by the shifter (at least I assume that's the crankcase). To the point where I feel a piece is almost cracked loose entirely.

What can be done about this? can I fix it with some epoxy or have it re-welded for a reasonable price? or can someone point me in the right direction of a replacement part?

so as long as I can keep water/debris out of it and epoxy it it'll be fine for awhile? something to get me through the riding season anyway.
