Hello my name is Wendell I am contemplating a trip from Los Angeles to Tampa soon. I am a contractor in Afghanistan and this is going to be part of my vacation. I used to have a naked Suzuki SV650 that someone crashed when I was deployed in the military last year.... :frown: but it is all good. Great bike..awesome for the city!.. the furthest I rode it was from Tampa to Atlanta during the winter and back. Talk about layers of clothing
I am looking to buy an 08 or 09 in Los Angeles.. I am running the marathon there in the end of March.. its funny but I have mailed some dealerships that I want to buy a VFR 800 but i do not get a reply maybe they do not take me serious.
I have decided to go with the honda because I wanted something different than a V-twin. I wanted something different than an I-4. I wanted to have touring capability and it had to be fast up top. My SV used to get beat by cars on teh top end... but thats another story for another day...ahha
I probably will make another forum asking how I should prep for such a ride. I am also not fond of the Givi saddlebags.. but I bet they are very useful and practical.. I am looking for an alternative... we shall see.... I am wondering if I should get a Gel seat also again I will make a new thread.
I am sure it is a great bike and I cant wait to hit the open road and use her as a daily driver when I am back in teh states...

well I will keep ya posted.. .. hopefully i can get this bikee before I touchdown in LA.. Later
