I bought my first VFR last year. It's a 1999. I have always heard that they are the best all around bike and after I rode mine I'm sold. I have also heard that their weak spot is the regulator rectifier. Well I just ordered my first replacement from regulatorrectifier.com. Anything else I should be looking out for?

Honda upgraded the original design R/R with about twice the fin area. See pic for new and old. (Photo isnt mine)

I looked on the site you had listed and based on the pic they listed for the 98-99 --- Sorry to say, but I would not order it. I looks just like the original stocker, same fin area.

The next bit of insurance to fix it is order the VFRness from Wire My Bike --- The guy is a bit of a VFR wire-ing guru. I have one on my '98. With the upgraded Honda R/R and the VFRness, my ride has had zero electric issues since.

    Good luck,
    MD
