Well nearly two weeks after negotiating/haggling/pleading/crying like an infant to get my new vfr800 I picked it up about 6pm last week.

Route home was not the best, busy city centre then packed motorway, but first impressions are as follows.

Wow! that top box is massive!

Gear change is smoother than a waxed, oiled pussy.

Front break feels fantastic, even from the few times I've used it so far.

Bike felt very stable, even on the crap road surfaces, probably a bit hard for me at the front but will play about with settings.

Heated grips, where have you been all my life?

    Instruments, love them.

Switch gear, tooted horn 3 times trying to indicate, self canceling indicators work brilliantly.

Being a short arse. Weight feels very low down and less than it is, my reach to the ground is far better than my lowered zx10r but I still need to excercise caution.

Center stand, to those that struggle with this, eat your porridge, it's a wee pussy cat to put it on it.

    Looks, well I love it. IMG_0202-1.jpg IMG_0179.jpg

Thanks guys. Very lucky that 30 minutes riding takes me onto some of the worlds greatest biking roads and scenery.

Hi Nelix and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

That is one might pretty 8th Gen. The colour coded sliders really blend in well.

As for the top box it has its good points and bad points. In cross winds it can act like a sail. But it can hold a lot of beer - indeed it can hold so many tins of beer that the back of the bike starts to take over the steering. As for the official Honda weight limit - lets say I have found it is very cautious. But if you have the option of the panniers they will be a better place for carrying any really heavy stuff and keep the top box for bulky/lighter stuff.

You may want to update your forum profile (Forum Actions/Edit Profile) to include the specs of your VFR - year/version and an approximate location town/city is fine - that way the information will appear automatically beside all your posts and if you are looking for someone to ride with or need help with a problem you may find someone nearby is willing to swing by especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge or a bottle of The Macallan.

    Take care

    Much appreciated the comments.
Gf is new to bikes and likes the security of the backrest otherwise I would have opted for panniers. We only need enough carry capability for one or two nights away so top box should be fine.
On a 12 hour night shift at moment and using tapatalk but will update profile soon.
My other bike, bought to get gf on pillion as the zx10r was not a good idea. View attachment 35843
