1986 VFR750 Backstory; bought the bike with electrical problem/fixed it. Started the bike and had a fuel leak/fixed it. When I fixed the fuel leak (o-ring on one of the fuel tees) I noticed the carbs were reasonably clean so I opted to slap it togather and go for a test ride. I was suprised how smooth this honda was, until 5 grand hit then it leaned out big time. My thought was the mains were clogged and needed cleaning. Off the carbs came and to my amazment the mains on the back two carbs were not even seated but just sitting in their holes! P3070088.jpg Dam fine mechanics out there!
Now bike pulls strong all the way to redline!:courage:

If that's professionally done work, HORRORS! Sloppy work indeed.

i've seem some 'orrible abuse done by too-inexperienced or lacking- proper- tools novices or incomprtent pros, with reused float bowl or other screws that have heads stripped out almost entirely. i always replace those, as well as bowl gaskets on any VF/VFR i'm working on.
