My first bike was a '83 Honda CB1100F that I bought in the Fall of '10. Kind of a big beginner bike but I'm 6'2" and very focused. I took the ABATE training course and aced the test--the instructors couldn't believe that I had never been on a bike before! Anyway, after I discovered that I loved riding, I decided to get a more modern bike. Sold the old Warlock and bought a 2000 VFR800FI. This could very well be my dream bike: yellow, single-sided swingarm (with a Gen 4 rear wheel, I believe), custom undertail exhaust (previous owner did it himself), blue neon road effect lights (aw yeah!), corbin seat, custom white gauges, micro turn signals, vintage Honda Motorcycle emblem.

Ever have that dream where your falling? Well, I may have been on my dream bike, but I wasn't dreaming. The second day I rode it I wiped out from a stop going to turn. I suspect a combo of factors: a noob, a noob on an unfamiliar bike, a noob on a unfamiliar modern bike, some loose gravel, and chain lube on the tire that I rolled over in my garage.

Needless to say, my next mod will be frame sliders. I know of a local shop that could build me a pair. They would have saved my crankcase cover. Anyway, got a replacement and the cracked one fixed and everything put back together. I'll post pics of the damage in the gallery. I'll be using those pics for reference for the best spot for frame sliders.

I love to learn so I'll be asking (or searching:wink:) a lot of questions.

    Here's my bike!

Oops. I just uploaded my pics to the gallery and I thought they'd all go into one folder but they got posted individually. I hope that's ok.
