Yes, on a VFR o2 elims are absolutely required for the PC to function properly. Otherwise the ECU and the PC will essentially try to override one another. You can get them thru Dynojets website or your local tuner.

The last three I purchased came with the o2 eliminators.

I'm starting to see this, a little pissed mine didn't. I got the PC 2 1/2 years ago and wasn't aware of their necessity. I got my bike to the tuner where they informed me of it and subsequently had to wait another two weeks for their arrival in order to get the tune.

I just put a Power Commander III/USB on my 07 this winter. It came with the o2 eliminators. I called Power Commander tech line to ask where they're supposed to go. They told me I don't need them, they're for Califormia model bikes only.

Hey Tap, the Dynojet tech you spoke to had his head up his ass, you're gonna need the o2 elims. The '07 is California compliant, as are all 6 gen VFR's.

    Thanks for the info havcar...

Good thing I kept the o2 sensors then!

The Dynojet installation guide didn't show anything about installing them. Where are they located on the bike?

This is a thread that discussed the install, if a little vague. I can't help much with the install as I usually, and by usually I mean always, have these kinds of mods done through a tuner. Essentially, the o2's are required for the ECU and the PCIII to operate uniformally, rather than canceling one another out. If you need more detailed instruction on the install, a PM to toecutter or norcalboy would provide a solution. Sorry to pass the buck, fellas.

Okay - so I'm on a spending spree of sorts. Just ordered the Leo Vince EvoII Conicals and a Power Commander III USB 126-411 (Corse Racing $269.95/free shipping). Couple questions. In scouring the PCIII threads - there seems to be inconsistencies on whether the O2 eliminators come with the unit or not. Any specific insight would be appreciated. I ordered the 126-411, as opposed to the 126-411EX. I do plan on using them. I know the Radio Shack resistor route exists, but the OCD in me likes the 'finished' nature of the nice connectors PC provides.

Also, does anyone have some pics on where/how they mounted or stuck the actual PCIII unit? Haven't found any install pics in the threads. Does anyone have any experience with the PCIII map M126-004 "Leo vince slip-on exhaust ,Stock or aftermarket air filter,Dynojet O2 eliminator kit"? Nice to have a map specific to the pipes and set-up I have. Just curious what to expect I guess.

Anxious to have a day in the garage this spring to change the 1st oil with my Gucci Motorex synthetic oil from Switzerland, install the Leo's, the PCIII, O2 eliminators, 1/2 bra, and fender eliminator. Nice project for me and my 8 year old boy. With only 600 miles, it feels like a new bike. After all this stuff, it'll feel even newer again. :)

DNRDNI, you've ordered the correct PCIII - the EX is a sort of California compliant model. From what I've gathered of late, provided you've ordered a VFR specific unit, the o2 elims will come with it. Everyone I'm aware of, including myself, have mounted the PCIII under the seat using the provided velcro. I went with the right side, between the seat latch and the bungie hook, tucked underneath the cowling, making sure that the buttons are not coming in contact with anything and that the unit itself isn't interfering with the seat. Run and secure the wiring under the framing. Once you receive the PCIII and are able to examine diffirent mounting points under the seat, you'll see that there are very few places you can actually put it; so it's a lot easier than it sounds. You just want to reserve as much space as you can for other things, like tools.

In regards to mapping, I can't help you out much with the downloadable Leo versions. I can say that a custom map is a far better option than the downloadables and is very much worth it. The bike will run much better with no more off-idle stuttering, a smoother VTEC transition, and no power loss at mid-tach. A lot of guys end up at the dyno for a custom anyway, after fumbling around with several versions of imperfect downloads.

Have a good time installing everything.

    Thanks havcar -
Will take some pics and post the install too. On mapping - I would assume the Leo download to be a fairly custom map if it is specific to the exact hardware I'm running?

Just got off the phone with DynaJet - said the O2 eliminators do not ship with the 126-411. Maybe the 126-411EX does? No consisitency or consensus that I can find... Guess I just wait to see what shows up, I'm in no rush until the snow melts.

That should be the case, unfortunately, most of us have found otherwise. In my case, it was way too rich. The generics can't compensate for the fact that two indentical bikes will run diffirently from one another.

+2 on that statement. I'm running a two brothers system and I was using the downloaded map from Power Commander but the bike just didn't feel right. It was lean when cruising so it surged and when you grabbed a handfull it hesitated. I richened it up across to board and it is much nicer. I'm sure a proper dyno tune would be even better.

I just did the same set up as you are doing the PC111 came with the 02 eliminators ( on the parts list) the instructions show you were to mount the unit ( ten min tops).
Did the remap for the Leos and was finished also did pair valve and air box mods and runs like a top.

Pair valve and airbox mods? First time I've heard of those. I'll scour the threads for more info, but could you give me the quick version?

Just to let know the valve and airbox mods got rid of the flat spot @ 6000 and the twitchy throttle at low speeds. when i remapped PC111 it smoothed out completly. Your going too love the sound of those pipes !!!!!

For the record, I just got my PCIII from sporttour.com (as per the link above) and it came with the O2 sensor eliminators in the box. I did order a separate set of eliminators just in case, but the sporttour people were nice enough to e-mail me and ask if I wanted to cancel them, as well as shipping them to an address that they don't normally ship to! So big ups to them </plug>

Still have to wait another few weeks to get the PCIII on and dyno'd - can't wait!

Just finished installing the Leo SBK pipes, PCIII, O2 Eliminators, changed the oil - ready to rock. Just staring out the window waiting for the snow to melt. ....still there. ....still there...

I ordered the 126-411 Power Commander III USB. There seems to be some inconsistency on whether this unit comes with the O2 Eliminators. I even called Dyna-Jet and was told they did not. I just ordered the unit anyway and waited to see. the 126-411 I received DID come with the two O2 Eliminators. FYI.
