Just picked up a 1986 VFR750 for cheap. Thought I'd screw with it for awhile, let my kids ride it! As I said in another post part of teh wiring harrness was fried which was caused by the previous owner not knowing what he was doing. Fixed that and when I started it fuel was leaking from the fuel tee going to the #3 carb. Fixed that (much easier than I read) and took it for the first ride. I don't fit! But thats ok! Bike is smooth but still needs work, about 6000 RPM it starts missing (no idea how long the fuel has been in the tank), but I'll figure it out! Once I get it running correctly I'll make it look nicer. Lower plastics are off to work on it. THe Kawasaki is my ZRX1200R :lemo:Take it easy
Cool bike! Probably starving for fuel at higher RPMs, causing the miss. I'm sure you already suspected this.
Don't underestimate the 86 model, it was a great bike with a beautiful motor and handling. It is a very easy bike to work on, and bullet proof. I did 52000k's in one year on one back when they were new, thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. Good luck.
I would love to pick up a nice VFR 750 . by next year I hope to have a 5th gen and a VFR 750 to go with my 2007 VFR I have now . If I had my way I would love to have every gen VFR. Hell I have been wanting a old Honda CB350 also . Just to ride in town .
