Fellow VFR's, Friend of mine T-boned a deer last night (he thinks he had slowed down to about 50) and woke up surrounded by First Responders and a crowd of onlookers. He saw the deer coming up out of a ditch and just had time to touch his brakes. He was wearing a riding suit, boots, gloves, and full face helmet, and his injuries in total are a cracked collarbone and a scratch on his arm where his suit wore through on the pavement. No concussion (helmet is all scratched up), or serious injuries. While I know how "Cool" it is to ride without gear, it takes less than a second for your life to change forever. Having a severe brain injury, or spending your life in a wheelchair due to a stupid decision is not cool, so even if you don't care about your own safety, think of those you love, those you are responsible for, and those of us who will end up paying your bills, if you make the wrong decision. All the gear, all the time.
