Ok guys I'm doing the 01 vfr800 mono shock conversion to cbr 929 shock. My question is I've seen the 00 929 shocks(white) and I've seen the 01 929 shocks(yellow) and did they do anything different to those shocks performance wise, also when I put them on will I have to make adjustments,I weigh 175lbs and I'm 6" and does this conversion really make the differance as far as riding performance? Also do I need to put in some new fork springs and what would be a good wieght? I ride with a group of guys and we go to the mountains for a day ride, most of them ride gsxr's cbr's ect ect and I'm a good rider not being cocky but when it comes to riding with my group I cant keep up in the curves wich is embarrasing knowing I can lol. Also my rpm idle is 1100 warm,if I set it @ 1400rpm would that be too high? Also my colde idle rpm is 500 so what should I set that too?Any ideas or comments would help Thank you

    Hey Hollenbeck

I had Jamie D. at Daugherty Motorsports build up a 929 shock for my bike and I believe it came with an 1100 lb spring (not 100% sure what the color is but I think it is blue) and it certainly made a difference. My height and weight are almost identical to yours and if you are a good rider I'm certain you will notice the difference more than I would. If you have any questions regarding the shocks Jamie would probably be a really good person to contact. Check out his website and maybe shoot him an email (Daugherty Motorsports - Motorcycle Suspension Performance and Modification)

Jamie would likely be able to help you out with questions about the front suspension as well.

I'm sure a few more people will chime in at some point as well with a bit more help.
