Hey.. Took some pics today.. They are not great. Only a 2MP camera. I will post some better ones when I get the chance.

Next on the list of things to do, is to check the valve adjustment, and inspect the cams. Then I will be ordering a top end oiling kit from this place:

Has anybody used this one? or do you have any other recomendations?

I took the bike on a road trip yesterday, rode Cincinnati to Nashville to visit some family.. Bike was great on the highway...

    Thanks for all your help.

    Ken

Wow Ken that bike looks great!

Most of the older 500s got beat to hell by young ruffians (alot like the Yamaha RZ350's) and few survived as well as this one. Congrats!

Nice ride Ken. That bike looks mint. Check out the "The V-4 Pages" for info on the oil mod http://www.math.uwaterloo.ca/~rblander/moto_long.html There's alot of good information on the different types of oil mods available. I would go with the "DRP Oil Mod" by Dave Dodge Racing Products. It's a complete bolt up kit. No drilling, tapping or engine disassembly other than removing the carbs to get to the upper banjo bolts. It mounts between the oil filter and the block. It also has a check valve so the new oil lines do not leak down when the engine is turned off. So you get fresh oil at start up everytime. I know this kit is available for the 700-750-1000's, but not sure about the 500. Hope this helps.

Wow! That's clean. I would probably have to spend a week with multiple toothbrushes to get mine that clean. Looks Great!

WOW! Very clean bike. Amazing condition for it's age. Reminds me of when my love afair for the VFR began in HS. I bought what I could afford back then, a 1979 185CMT. Ten years later I had the cash to get what I wanted. Now that I'm looking at your bike, I think I should have robbed a bank back then.

Hey Ken. Welcome to the site. I'm new here also and I live in Cincinnati also.
What part of town are you in. I'm in the Northgate area. Maybe we can get together and go for a ride sometime. Great looking bike by the way.

Hey.. Well I am out of town now.. I am a OTR trucker. I will be back the weekend of 23,24. I stay in the Finneytown area when I am home for the weekends.
I used to live in the Northgate area.. at the Villages of NG.
Mabye we can go on a ride together. I have been meeting with the Localriders group... went on the Sun ride out of Wilder KY.. they are pretty aggressive.. But they wait at the turns for you to catch up.. so there is no pressure to go fast. We rode 220 miles of twisties. then 105 back home.
I am always up for a scenic ride too, since I am still a newbie to riding.
I am not sure when I will have internet access again.. so it may be several days till I can be reached.

    Have a good one.

    Ken
